Business Idea Overview
I don't have a name for the website but I currently run a small business and as I imagine everyone else does, I am always looking for bargains in order to fund my start-up on a budget.
I had an idea for an enterprise website that offers 1 product/service (or even a handfull) each day at a heavily discounted rate.
I am open to suggestions as to whether the website would merely act as an agent for providers to offer their product/service or whether the website would act as a wholesaler.
The types of products or services that could be offered are quite simply endless.
The whole point of the site is to be simple, all products can be purchased from the front page without the need for trawling through catalogues etc.
There could be localised versions of the site all over the world because I understand that cultures are different.
What makes the idea profitable, distinct or superior
There is nothing else like it out there. This business needs to be global in order to gain the most feedback/best market research but also to ensure products and services can be sourced from all over the globe.
It would be highly profitable in the same way as home shopping channels are successful because they showcase products individually, allowing the potential customers to be targeted and pitch focused towards them.
The other important point to remember is that it would have few costs being web based so could potentially be very profitable.

sounds interesting. i would definitely be checking out such a site everyday. but you will need to have a large network of supplier in order for you to provide a great deal each and every day.
A deal a day is more for
A deal a day is more for bargain hunters and selling of non-necessity items. It is great for impulse buying. If you are running a business, I don't think you can get the specific product you need at the exact time. IMHO, maybe you can consider a business opportunity a day to target B2B.
